Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design and implement interventions that are individualised to a person’s goals and health conditions. The Healthy Connections exercise clinic provides a friendly, inclusive and supportive environment where people can connect with others and be part of our community. Our goal is to ensure that engagement in physical activity and/ or exercise is accessible for all people as we value the significant impact it can have on our physical and mental well-being.
What is the difference between an Exercise Physiologist and a Physiotherapist?
Exercise physiologists tend to work in the long-term management of chronic conditions, where as a Physiotherapist work more in the acute management phase.
Physiotherapists have more diagnostic skills and can provide hands-on treatment for their clients if necessary. For best client outcomes we always recommend a multidisciplinary approach.
We can assist with:
- overcoming persisting pain caused by injury or overuse
- muscle strengthening and improved bone health
- improving balance and reducing risk of falls
- improving heart health
- rehabilitation following a cardiac event
- controlling of diabetes
- preventing pre-diabetes from progressing to full diabetes
- improving recovery following cancer treatment
- improving general health and wellbeing
